Club Championships Update #1 2026
And we're off!
Here's a very brief first update of the standings for 2026 after some fantastic January performances at the Newcastle 10k, the Brass Monkey Half Marathon, and the Druridge Bay Trail 10k and Half Marathons. And of course, there's been the Birtley Relays and Temple Park Cross Country where the first bonus points of the year have been earned!

In the Female category, the early leader is Emma Turnbull , closely followed by Kimberley Swan and then Esme Stephenson - all after great runs at the Brass Monkey Half Marathon.
Top of the pile in the Open category is John James after great runs at the Brass Monkey (the first 80%+ score of the year! ) and then at the Druridge Bay Trail Half. Mick Meaney is a close second after an age category winning run at the Newcastle 10k, followed up with a solid run at the Druridge Bay Trail Half. John and Mick are the first to register two qualifying scores this year. The ever reliable James Leiper is third after a strong run at the Brass Monkey Half.
Next to come in February is the Valentine's 10k on the Town Moor on Sunday 15th (always a popular event for club runners).
There are also bonus points opportunities at the Signal Relays on the 14th and the Alnwick Castle XC on the 28th. Let Lindsay Aspden (in Lalage Brown 's absence) and Kelly Enderwickly / Adam Brown know if you can support the club at these events.
