Committee & Welfare

Ponteland Runners Committee & Welfare Officer

The club committee consists of Chairman David Buffham, Secretary Sue Heppell, Treasurer Paul Holborrow, Coach Co-ordinator Chris Heppell, and Club Members Dave Legg and Jon Parkin.  Ponteland Runners also has a Welfare Officer, Chrys Hudson.  A brief description of the functions they perform for the club are shown below.

Chairman – David Buffham

David provides the oversight of the running of the club.  David wrote and published the club constitution and is the authority on any constitutional queries within the club.  David chairs committee meetings and ensures that the club is ran for the benefit of the members.

Secretary – Sue Heppell

Sue minutes the committee meetings, and handles agenda items requested by members.  Sue also handles all club kit purchases, and distribution amongst members.

Treasurer – Paul Holborrow

Paul manages the club finances.  Collecting annual subs, paying the affiliation fees with England Athletics & Triathlon England and fundraising via National Governing bodies, Tony Blair Sports Foundation and other funding bodies to try and run the club as cost effectively as possible for the members. The club accounts are available for viewing for any club member at any time.

Coach Co-ordinator – Chris Heppell

Chris co-ordinates the Club Coaches and Leaders to ensure that the main club sessions are managed and organised.  The club have a number of active volunteer leaders with the EA LiRF qualification and we also have three qualified coaches.

Club Members – Dave Legg & Jon Parkin

Dave and Jon joined the committee in 2013 to assist in representing the views of the members and ensuring that the club continues to be ran for benefit of the members.

Welfare Officer – Chrys Hudson

Chrys Hudson provides a point of contact within the club,  but independent from the committee for Child Welfare.  Chrys has attending the necessary Safeguarding Children courses.  If you have any concerns at all please contact Chrys at Welfare@PontelandRunners.org.uk
