Early May Bank Holiday

Each year Ponteland Runners hold a closed club handicap race.  Originally around Darras Hall but since 2012 a new course in Ponteland Park was established and this will be used in future years.  The event is 5km in length with runners allocated a handicap time based on previous recent performance.  The idea is that all runners of any ability have an equal opportunity to win the race.

In 2012 we ran some fun races for kids in the park prior to the main adults event.  These proved very successful and we’re hoping for an increased participation from the children this year.

Unfortuneately in 2013 the event wasn’t ran but we’re hoping it will return in 2014.
