Rain, just what we didn’t want, and heavy overnight rain. The course around Alnwick Tri was covered in water and it was going to be a hard bike route. However, it didn’t stop 14 Ponteland Tri members travelling up to Alnwick very early on a Sunday morning. Three podium positions for Martin Hallisey (Overall 3rd), Elaine Stroud (Ladies Vets 3rd) and Tony Prince (Mens Supervets 3rd) was a great result for the club. Ponteland Tri was also the best represented club at the event complete with two marshall volunteers thanks to John and Sue.

This year, Alnwick Tri changed the run route from the traditional out and back offroad climb to four laps around the school but the rest of the event was the usual great recipe from Alnwick Tri.

A big thankyou to Alnwick Tri for hosting the event, and a well done to all our club members for particpating in challenging conditions. Hopefully we’ll see everyone back at Alnwick next year for another attempt at this great local event.
