The weather is usually great for our Go Tri’s, but not this one, the last one of the year. Light rain started at 16:30 just as we started to put out transition and the evening continued between light rain with some heavier rain until shortly after we had cleared everything up and had gone home. The timing was perfectly aligned to make sure we all got wet but that didn’t stop the fun and enjoyment. It was a sell out event although I think the rain put off quite a few as we had a number of no-shows on the day. There were a larger than usual number of novices which did make for a particulary easy going event without the display of top-end time trial bikes on show. Continue reading
The weather was kind to us again for the second of our Go Tri this year, probably perfect conditions for those competing. We had 46 finishers on the night so a modest turnout for us 😉
The atmosphere was great with loads of freindly marshals helping out and encouraging the traithletes. There seems to have been a bit of a happiest triathlete competition ongoing at the finish line 🙂 🙂

Enough said. Continue reading

The decision to do another half iron was taken in Yolo back over a few cocktails and an iPad to google possible events to enter. In the end, 6 Pont Tri crazy people competed in the half ironman (Tina K, Nikki R, Abby D, Pete D, John McG and myself) with Lyndsey Curry ‘aka the Machine’ stepping up to the full ironman distance. It has got to be one of the best triathlon events and courses in the UK, possibly in Europe and this race report explains why.
