The Club Championship finishes at the end of October so you still have time to improve your score but only just! by

  • adding a long run (10 miles or more, officially timed)
  • gain 10 points for running the XC at Gosforth Park on Saturday (unless you have already got your max 20 points for XC since April)
  • entering the last medium race in the Championship – the Hexham 10K on Sunday morning https://runnation.co.uk/r/run-northumberland-hexham-10k-2018
  • entering the postponed parkrun challenge parkrun – date to be confirmed

Sprint Tri Ponteland Race Report

Our very own Abby Dorani’s race report on the inaugural Sprint Tri Ponteland.

With the number of members of the club doing triathlon increasing every year, and the success of our Go Tris also building year on year, it was no surprise that the time had come to put on our very own sprint triathlon. The Lakesman/ Lakesman Half (16th June 2018)

The decision to do another half iron was taken in Yolo back over a few cocktails and an iPad to google possible events to enter.  In the end, 6 Pont Tri crazy people competed in the half ironman (Tina K, Nikki R, Abby D, Pete D, John McG and myself) with Lyndsey Curry ‘aka the Machine’ stepping up to the full ironman distance.  It has got to be one of the best triathlon events and courses in the UK, possibly in Europe and this race report explains why.

LeJoG 2018 #markslejog2018

So what’s on your bucket list of things “to do”.  For those of you who know me then there will be little surprise that a lot of my list is to do with exercise. Complete all the Munroes (done 130, 140 to go),  do an ironman (done), climb Everest (too expensive and tooooo dangerous) but also cycle from Land’s End to John O Groats.  So I decided to move it (LeJoG) from my “to-do” list to my “done” list.  Permission was given, leave booked and everything booked ready for the middle of May.
