Courtesy of club funds (just joking) our treasurer Paul Holborow recently made a trip to Reykjavik for their New Years’ Eve 10k.
An 11:30am start sounds leisurely but then again sunrise isn’t until 11:20!
And anyone that thinks Cross Country is cold should think again.

27 degrees and 89% humidity and that was at 4:30am – oh, which was also the start time!
An F1 race track, medal/bottle opener and 3rd place in her category (and top 10% overall), here is a terrific race report from Stefania Williams on the Singapore Marathon – well worth a read.
11 club members took part in this fairly well established local race in cold icy conditions producing some great performances and times.
With all the men finishing in the top 50 and the ladies also putting in strong performances this was a good day at the office.
Eleven Ponteland Runners took part in the 2017 edition of this long established, very well organised 10k.
Despite the windy, cold conditions there were a number of PBs for members including a first sub 40 minute time for Roland Brown – well done Roland.
