Treasurer goes to Iceland – doesn’t buy anything

Courtesy of club funds (just joking) our treasurer Paul Holborow recently made a trip to Reykjavik for their New Years’ Eve 10k.

An 11:30am start sounds leisurely but then again sunrise isn’t until 11:20!

And anyone that thinks Cross Country is cold should think again.

Well worth a read and who better than our finance man to guide you through how to do a trip on a tight budget.

Xmas Handicap 5km

Ponteland Runners traditionally run a handicap race annually, recently this has been just before Christmas, with many wearing Santa hats to add to the fun element of the event.  This year, thanks to Matty we had 47 signed up for the run. On the night some dropped out and others turned up for a very positive 47 finishers.

Strava provides us with a great virtual view of the event. Great to see the faster runners having to work to try and chase down the field.

Great work by the volunteers to collect all the times when the finishers all come in so close together.

Results below showing the finishing order of the participants. Continue reading
